9 Top-Rated Airbnb Amenities that Guests Love

Custom-Built Ski Wall

For my ski resort Airbnb, our custom-built ski wall has become the unexpected star of the show in guest reviews. This purpose-built station gives guests a dedicated space to hang skis, snowboards, and all their bulky winter gear, with special spots for helmets and goggles that keep everything organized and off the floor.

The built-in boot warmers are particularly appreciated – nothing ruins a ski day faster than starting with cold, damp boots! While it might seem like a small addition, this thoughtful amenity solves a genuine pain point for skiers who otherwise end up with wet equipment cluttering the entryway or dripping on furniture. It’s one of those practical touches that shows guests we understand exactly what they need after a long day on the slopes, and it helps maintain the cleanliness of the entire space.

Seamless Smart Home Integration

One of the amenities I focus on for iHost properties that consistently receives positive feedback is the seamless integration of smart home features. By equipping our rentals with smart locks, thermostats, and lighting, we improve both convenience and security for guests, making their stay more comfortable and stress-free. This focus aligns with current guest preferences for tech-enabled and hassle-free experiences.

For instance, we’ve implemented digital keys across our portfolio, allowing guests to check in and access their accommodations through their smartphones, eliminating the hassle of key exchanges. Data from guest reviews have shown a 35% increase in satisfaction scores when these smart features are present, underscoring their impact.

Guests continually express appreciation for these cutting-edge conveniences, which are rare in mid-term rentals but increasingly in demand. As an automation strategist, incorporating these technologies not only boosts guest satisfaction but also differentiates our offerings in a competitive market, ultimately contributing to higher occupancy rates and returns for property owners.

Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine

The Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine in our Sonoma County rental consistently receives more mentions in reviews than any other amenity we offer, even outshining our hot tub and vineyard views. Last month, a couple from Seattle extended their stay by two days, specifically mentioning their morning ritual of crafting lattes on the deck while watching the fog roll off the vineyards as the highlight of their vacation.

Quality coffee preparation speaks to what travelers truly value – not just convenience, but permission to slow down and savor experiences they rarely make time for at home. I include locally roasted beans from Sebastopol’s Retrograde Coffee Roasters with a handwritten note explaining the roast profile and suggesting perfect extraction times, transforming a simple amenity into a memorable experience that connects guests to local culture.

The most meaningful amenities aren’t about luxury or expense but rather understanding the psychological transition travelers need to make from their everyday lives to vacation mindset. “The best amenities don’t just serve a function; they grant permission to experience a place more deeply,” is something I’ve learned after years of guest feedback and five-star reviews.

Reliable High-Speed Wi-Fi

One essential amenity that consistently receives positive feedback from guests in most Airbnbs is reliable high-speed Wi-Fi. In today’s digital age, connectivity is no longer a luxury–it’s a necessity. Whether guests are remote workers needing a seamless connection for video calls, travelers streaming their favorite shows, or tourists researching local attractions, fast and stable internet enhances their stay.

Why it matters:

1. Work needs – Many guests rely on Wi-Fi to work remotely, making it a crucial feature for business travelers and digital nomads.

2. Entertainment – Guests use Wi-Fi to stream movies, browse social media, and stay entertained during downtime.

3. Navigation & Local Insights – Access to online maps and travel guides helps guests plan their itinerary effortlessly.

4. Guest Satisfaction & Reviews – A strong internet connection contributes to a positive guest experience, leading to higher ratings and repeat bookings.

Providing high-quality Wi-Fi ensures guests have a seamless, productive, and enjoyable stay–making it a top priority for any Airbnb host aiming for success.

Essential High-Speed Wi-Fi

One amenity that always seems to resonate well with guests at our Airbnb is the availability of high-speed Wi-Fi. In today’s connected world, the need to stay online, whether for work, sharing moments on social media, or planning the next day’s adventures, is more essential than ever. Guests appreciate that they can rely on our Wi-Fi without worrying about connectivity issues or slow speeds, which can often be a frustration at hotels or other accommodations.

The importance of this amenity can’t be overstated. It not only helps in providing a seamless internet experience but also aids in smoother guest communication and entertainment options, such as streaming movies or music. Our goal is always to make guests feel at home, and ensuring they can easily access and use the internet is a big part of that effort. It’s a simple yet powerful way to enhance guest satisfaction and cause them to return or recommend our place to others.

Fully-Stocked Kitchen

I believe that one essential amenity that consistently receives positive feedback from guests is a fully-stocked kitchen. This includes basic cooking essentials such as pots and pans, utensils, and dishes, as well as commonly used condiments like salt, pepper, and olive oil.

In my experience, having a well-equipped kitchen is crucial for creating a comfortable and convenient stay for guests. Many travelers prefer staying in an Airbnb because it offers the amenities of a home while traveling. Providing a fully-stocked kitchen allows guests to cook their own meals and save money on dining out.

It also gives them the option to prepare their favorite dishes or try local recipes using fresh ingredients from nearby markets. This adds to the overall experience of staying in a different city or country.

Reliable High-Speed Wi-Fi

One amenity that consistently gets rave reviews from our Airbnb guests is high-speed, reliable Wi-Fi. It might seem basic, but it’s one of those things people notice immediately–especially if it’s missing or slow.

We upgraded to a commercial-grade system after a guest mentioned spotty coverage in one of the bedrooms. It wasn’t a major complaint, but it made us realize how important this feature is for the overall experience. Since making the switch, we’ve seen more positive feedback mentioning how easy it is to stay connected throughout the property.

Airbnb research backs this up, showing that Wi-Fi is one of the most searched-for amenities. For digital nomads and remote workers, it’s often a dealbreaker when choosing a place to stay. And with so many people blending work and travel these days, offering fast and secure internet has become as important as having a comfortable bed.

We also added a small workspace with a desk and ergonomic chair to cater to remote workers. It’s been a hit with guests who need to log in for meetings or get some work done during their stay.

It might sound simple, but reliable Wi-Fi does more than keep people connected–it shows you care about their experience.

Culinary Starter Kit

We’ve found that our guests truly appreciate the “Culinary Starter Kit” we provide in each of our Airbnb properties. It’s not just your typical assortment of salt, pepper, and oil. We go a step further and include locally roasted coffee beans, a selection of loose-leaf teas, and a small jar of homemade jam from a nearby farm. We also tuck in a few basic spices – think oregano, paprika, and garlic powder – along with a little recipe card featuring a simple local dish guests can whip up.

I believe this resonates with people because it adds a touch of warmth and immediate “home-away-from-home” comfort. After a long journey, who wants to immediately run to the store for basic necessities, especially when you’re excited to unwind and explore? This kit eliminates that hassle. It also lets our guests experience a taste of the local area right away, which sets a lovely tone for their visit. They feel cared for and invited to settle in and enjoy. Plus, that little extra effort differentiates our properties and shows guests that we value their experience beyond just providing a place to sleep. It’s about bridging the gap between visitor and local, even if it’s just through a cup of good coffee and a taste of homemade jam.

Quality Bedding and Linens

One of my favorite ways to create a luxurious and inviting guest room experience is by focusing on the quality of bedding and linens. Investing in high-thread-count sheets, plush pillows, and a soft, cozy duvet can transform a simple guest room into a serene sanctuary. I always ensure that the bedding is not only visually appealing but also exceptionally comfortable, allowing guests to feel enveloped in luxury.

This attention to detail significantly enhances the overall experience, making guests feel pampered and well-cared-for. When they sink into a plush bed after a long day, the immediate sense of comfort can make them feel at home. Additionally, I like to add a personal touch, such as a handwritten welcome note or a small selection of gourmet snacks, which reinforces the feeling of warmth and hospitality. These small yet thoughtful details create an inviting atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression, ensuring that guests feel valued and appreciated during their stay.
