How Do I Put Ads on My Blog?

Choose Relevant Ads and Placement

This means using ads that apply to your blog’s content and are not too large or obtrusive. You should also be careful about the number of ads you display and where they are placed, as having too many can make your site look cluttered and cause readers to lose focus on the content.

It is important to consider what type of ad network you use, as different networks have different criteria and may provide better monetization opportunities than others.

Utilize Google AdSense

Google AdSense: Google AdSense is a popular ad network that allows bloggers to earn money by displaying ads on their sites. AdSense uses contextual targeting to display ads that apply to the content on your blog.

To get started, you will need to build a substantial audience for your blog. This can be done by consistently producing high-quality content, optimizing your site for search engines, and promoting your blog on social media and other online channels.

Once you have built an audience, you can start experimenting with different ad formats and strategies to see what works best for your blog and your audience. It’s important to balance monetization and user experience, so be sure to test different ad placements and formats to find the right balance.

Partner With Ad Management Companies

In my experience, the best way to put ads on a blog to earn money is to work with a full-service ad management company. This is because a full-service ad management company handles everything for you, from ad unit implementation to optimization and revenue reporting.

And out of all the ad management companies out there, Mediavine has driven the best results for my blog. It consistently pays more per 1,000 visitors than competitors like Ezoic or Monumetric. And the support team is responsive and always ready to lend a hand.

The major downside of Mediavine is that you need 50,000 monthly sessions to apply. But my blog currently earns hundreds of dollars a day in ad revenue alone, and this is all thanks to Mediavine.

Build Traffic Before Placing Ads

One of the best ways to put ads on a blog and earn money is to wait until you have built up a good amount of traffic first. If you don’t have many readers, then it won’t make much sense to put ads on your blog because there would be no one to see them.

So ensure you have built up a steady stream of traffic before placing any ads on your blog. Then, consider what ad network you will use and how many ads you want to put up.

Consider Yahoo Publisher for High-Traffic

My recommendation for high-traffic blogs: switch from Google AdSense to Yahoo Publisher (high number of visitors each day). If your blog or website receives enough traffic for Yahoo Publisher to display advertising, you may find success with this ad network. Revenue from contextual ads is often larger than that from Google AdSense.

Strategize Ad Positioning

I’ve discovered that carefully positioning ads on your blog can significantly affect your ability to make money. My best advice for choosing the proper location is:

A user can view the content of your blog above the fold without having to scroll down, so think about putting advertising there. Placing advertising here can enhance visibility and click-through rates because this region normally receives the greatest reader’s attention.

We at Compare Banks have discovered that putting advertisements above the fold has allowed us to increase income without degrading user experience. We could find the ideal balance by experimenting with various ad placements and putting an emphasis on high-quality commercials.

Use Pay-Per-Click Advertising

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising can be an effective way to monetize a blog and earn money. First, PPC advertising allows you to target specific demographics, interests, and behaviors. This means that you can display ads to users who are most likely to be interested in the products or services being promoted, increasing the likelihood of clicks and conversions.

Besides that, PPC advertising can be cost-effective, as you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. This means that you’re only paying for the traffic that your ad generates, rather than paying for impressions or views that may not result in clicks or conversions.

Explore Affiliate Advertising

If you think the readers of your blog would be interested in purchasing things from another website, include affiliate advertisements on your blog.

Those who run book-related blogs, for instance, might benefit from affiliate programs such as Amazon’s Associate’s Program, which rewards bloggers for referring customers to Amazon through banner ads.

As a salesperson who sells things made by another company, you’ll likely be compensated based on a commission structure.

Join Advertising Networks

Using advertising networks allows you to choose to place advertisements on your blog. For advertising networks to take notice of your blog, you need a substantial amount of daily traffic—at least several thousand—but once they do, you can count on a more reliable stream of income, and one that pays very well, too.

You may choose the ads you wish to see on your site and submit information about your blog directly. If you want to monetize your site with ads, you may join one of the advertising networks listed below. Websites like Blogads, BuzzMachine, Federated Media, and TechCrunch are just a few examples.

Use Text Link Advertising

If you want to get paid for text links on your site, I recommend signing up for a service like Text Link Advertising. Let’s imagine you published a piece on your site regarding vehicle maintenance.

If you own a blog and use Text Link Ads or a similar online advertising platform to monetize it, you may get paid to convert the words “auto repair” into a text link that goes to the website of the car repair company paying for the advertisement.

One advantage of using text link advertisements is that you can turn any text on your site into a clickable link without having to change your layout.

Affiliate Advertising Revisited

If you think the readers of your blog would be interested in purchasing things from another website, include affiliate advertisements on your blog. Those who run book-related blogs, for instance, might benefit from affiliate programs such as Amazon’s Associate’s Program, which rewards bloggers for referring customers to Amazon through banner ads. As a sales associate who sells things made by another company, you’ll likely be compensated based on a commission structure.

Implement Pop-Up Ads

With pop-ups generating conversion rates anywhere between 3%-60%, according to entrepreneur.com, they are a very effective way to advertise on your blog. Of course, you need to be wary not to be spammy and the ads must add value to and fit the niche of your blog in order for conversions to come pouring in.
