Since October 26, 2026, Connectively has a dark mode, on desktop and on mobile. It was one of the features Connectively users asked for most, and turning it on takes one click on the sun icon next to your avatar.

## Key points

- Connectively now has a dark mode across the signed-in app and the public site.
- Light stays the default. Dark mode only turns on when you choose it.
- The switch is the sun icon next to your avatar on a computer, and at the top right of the screen on a phone.
- Connectively remembers your choice in that browser, so it stays dark the next time you sign in.
- The moon icon switches you back to light at any time.

## Why dark mode?

Because a lot of you asked for it. Many journalists and sources work through requests late in the evening or early in the morning, and a bright white screen is hard on the eyes in a dark room. [Apple's design guidelines](https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/dark-mode) describe dark mode as a dark color palette that gives a comfortable viewing experience in low-light environments. That is what it does in Connectively: the background, cards, tables and menus all switch to a deep plum, with the same violet highlights you know.

## Step 1: Sign in to Connectively

Sign in at [connectively.us](https://connectively.us). Dark mode works on every page of the app, so you can start from wherever you land, such as **Questions**.

## Step 2: Click the sun icon

On a computer, look at the top bar. The sun icon sits just left of your avatar, next to your plan's button (for example **Upgrade**). Click it and the page turns dark, spreading out from the icon.

On a phone, the sun icon is at the top right of the screen, across from the page name. Tap it.

## Step 3: Switch back whenever you like

In dark mode the sun becomes a moon. Click or tap the moon to return to light mode.

Your choice is saved in the browser you made it in. On another computer or phone, click the icon once there too.

## Where is the switch?

| Where you are | Where to find the icon |
|---|---|
| Signed in, on a computer | In the top bar, just left of your avatar |
| Signed in, on a phone | At the top right of the screen |
| On the public site, on a computer | At the right end of the main menu |
| On the public site, on a phone | Next to the menu button at the top |

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Connectively switch to dark mode automatically?

No. Light is the default, and Connectively only goes dark when you click the sun icon.

### Will dark mode stay on after I sign out?

Yes, in the same browser. Connectively saves your choice on that device, so it is still dark the next time you visit.

### Can I use dark mode on my phone?

Yes. Sign in on your phone and tap the sun icon at the top right of the screen.

### How do I go back to light mode?

Click or tap the moon icon in the same place. The page switches back to light right away.
